A 56-year-old man was arrested for allegedly killing his first wife

Amokofia community in Ukehe, Igboetiti Local Government Area of Enugu State, has been thrown into mourning on Saturday morning as a 56-year-old man identified as Simon Nwodo, was alleged to have been in conjunction with his second wife identified as Edith Nwodo, and allegedly killed his first wife known as Kate Nwodo, over a dispute in the family.

The state police command of Enugu state confirmed the tragic incident in a statement the police public relations officer identified as Ebere Amaraizu, stated yesterday, 1st January 2019.

Amaraizu, stated that the state police command, through the operatives of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, had started all-round investigation into happening which surrounds the alleged murder of the woman identified as Kate Nwodo.

Amaraizu, the representative of the state police command in Enugu state stated that:-

“The command gathered that one Kate Nwodo, the first wife of one Simon Nwodo from Amokofia Ukehe in Igboetiti Local Government Area of Enugu State, on January 26, 2019, allegedly killed the first wife with the support of the second wife identified as one Edith Nwodo, over a yet-to-be established issue.

“Further information revealed that the deceased had been having a running battle with the husband and the second wife before the unfortunate incident,”

The Enugu state police command spokesman, Amaraizu stated that Simon Nwodo and his second wife, Edith Nwodo, have been apprehended and they are assisting the operatives of the Police in their investigation in relation to the unfortunate and tragic incident.

The Enugu state police command spokesman also confirmed that the dead body of the deceased had been deposited in Atta Memorial Hospital morgue, Aku, in the Igboetiti Local Government Area of the state for an autopsy to discover what killed her.
